Diaper Cream Guide

Cloth Diaper Safe Creams

Not all diaper creams are created equal when it comes to cloth diapers. Certain ingredients can coat the fibers of your diapers over time causing them to repel moisture rather than absorb it, and some can cause staining that is difficult to remove. The good news is there are plenty of wonderful options that are completely safe and will keep both your baby and your diapers happy.

What to Avoid

The two main ingredients to steer clear of are zinc oxide and petrolatum. You will find these in most mainstream diaper creams including Desitin, Balmex, A&D Ointment, and Vaseline. If a cream is thick, white, and pasty it is likely not cloth diaper safe.

In a Pinch

If you ever need to use a zinc oxide cream for a bad rash just place a disposable liner between the diaper and your baby's skin. This protects the fabric while still letting you treat the rash.

FAQ

Find the most frequently asked questions below. If these still don't answer your question please reach out to us over email or text
  • We proudly serve Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, Carpinteria, Ojai, and the city of Ventura. Not sure if you're in our service area? Contact us and we'll let you know.

  • No problem at all. Your first two deliveries include your full supply to make sure you have a comfortable buffer right from the start. After that we begin a simple rotation — each week we pick up the diapers you used and return that same number clean the following week. Any unused clean diapers stay at your home, so you always have a little extra on hand just in case. Your membership price stays the same regardless of how many you use week to week.

  • Prefolds: Separate pieces (prefold + Snappi + cover). A prefold is a foldable, absorbent cotton diaper that you secure with a Snappi to hold it in place, then add a waterproof cover over it. Super durable, great absorbency, and flexible.

All-in-ones (AIOs): One-piece diaper with absorbency built in. Fastest and easiest to put on—just snap and go, similar to a disposable.

  • We're sad to see you go — but we make it easy. After your 8-week minimum commitment is complete, you can cancel or pause your membership in one of two ways:

Please note that cancellation or pause requests must be received at least two weeks before your next scheduled pickup. Need help? We're always happy to walk you through it.

  • It depends on where your baby is in their feeding journey:

Before baby starts solids: Simply fold or close the diaper and drop it in your pail liner — no rinsing needed. Easy as that.

Once baby starts solids: Plop any solid waste into the toilet (no scrubbing required), then place the diaper directly into your pail liner. Please avoid rinsing or getting the diaper wet before it goes in the pail. Many families find disposable or reusable diaper liners really helpful at this stage to make the process even simpler.

    We handle everything from there.

  • Yes — the Starter Kit is a one-time $40 fee added to your very first order. It includes everything you need to hit the ground running:

    • A diaper pail to store soiled diapers between pickups
    • A pail liner that fits inside your pail and makes handoff a breeze
    • Cheeky Peach Club Pail Powder — our signature deodorizer that neutralizes diaper odor on the spot. Just sprinkle it into your pail or wet bag and enjoy a fresh, gentle Peppermint Tea Tree scent all week long

After your first order, that's it — no recurring fees for the kit.

  • Not necessarily — and that's actually by design. We use a batch-laundry system that groups diapers by material and soil level to ensure consistent, thorough cleaning while minimizing water and energy use. This means you may receive a different set from week to week. Every diaper is quality-checked and hand-sorted before it's packed for your delivery, so you can trust that what arrives at your door is clean, inspected, and ready to use.

  • We understand that accidents happen. Rental items that are lost, stolen, or damaged beyond normal wear and tear are subject to a replacement fee charged to the payment method on file. Here's a quick look at our replacement pricing:

    • Diaper Pail — $30
    • Pail Liner — $20
    • Prefold — $3
    • All-In-One (Newborn) — $15
    • All-In-One (One Size) — $20

Normal wear and tear is completely expected and never charged. If you have any questions about the condition of a specific item, just reach out at hello@cheekypeachclub.com.
